Dine in privacy on the inn's Terrace over the Thouet River, arranged at your request. Take in the setting sun, the sweep of historic countryside and river. Retreat to romantic and peaceful areas of the inn to discover plush rooms, winding stairways, turrets and terraces. The game table hosts playful bouts of chess and checkers, while beautiful balconies gaze over the manor’s gardens “à la française.” Enjoy a stroll through the extensive gardens. Take in the fragrance of flowers and trees along with manicured shrubs, ponds, fountains, and ancient stone benches.
For those inclined to historical landmarks, the manor’s interior has been carefully maintained to preserve its unique essence. Original wood rafters and beams arch overhead. The bedrooms and other areas resound with centruies’ old stone and ceramic tile floors. The large stone hearths heark back hundreds of years--you’ll usually usually find a roaring fire on cool evenings in the second floor fireplace. The spiral stone staircase traversing all three floors shows the soft patina of age. Outside, an ancient defensive wall with an arrow slit runs though the garden.
