Speak, Learn, and Live the Language

A native French speaker, Muriel Reiley will be delighted to converse with you in fluent English or French during cooking classes, Pilates classes, while guiding her walking and bicycling tours or while relaxing at the manor. Trained to teach English as a second language at the University of California, Berkeley, USA, she has successfully instructed French and English language students for the past 20 years.

Cooking Classes à la Française

Muriel, a talented chef de cuisine, personally prepares each course served at the manor. Upon request, she will also illustrate her culinary methods using the manor’s streamlined and well equipped kitchen. To fully understand the art of French cookery, accompany Muriel to the local markets to buy fresh meats, baked breads, plump fruit, and flavorful vegetables for the day’s meals. What’s more, it’s a chance to coddle, toast, baste and broil together, using your new French language skills!

Paths, Parks, and Picnics

The region is rich in quaint retreats, hidden paths, historic sites—all places for hiking and biking exploration. Walking, hiking, and bicycling trips vary in length and time.  Upon request, Muriel will tuck in a homemade picnic lunch of fresh local treats—every day’s basket lunch is different and delicious.  For your convenience we have a variety of road bicycles for rent.
